Creating a budget can be scary and overwhelming, but it is a conversation that must be had. You never want to start your planning process without a figure in mind or you will find yourself spending more than you though you would. Here are some simple steps to help you create your wedding budget.

  1. Decide who is paying for the wedding. Traditions say the bride’s family usually foots the bill, but your situation may be different. Today, it is common for both sides and the couple to contribute something to the overall total.
  2. Decide how much you can afford to invest in your wedding day. Many people have taken out loans from the bank, but if you don’t need to then DON’T. Remember you don’t want to start your new journey in debt.
  3. Now the hardest part is over you are able to tackle the next task. Finding vendors that fit within your budget. Great sources to use when finding vendors are your local bridal magazines, wedding websites, bridal shows and of course wedding planners. Wedding planners come in handy for several reasons. They know exactly where to send you based on your budget, so don’t rule them out.
